CELEBRATED SAILOR KEN READ TAKES DELIVERY OF SOLUNA 46’

Soluna Yachts is proud to announce the delivery of the exciting new Soluna 46’ express cruiser to Ken Read, one of the world’s most accomplished and celebrated sailors.  Mr. Read has twice served as helmsman aboard America’s Cup challenger “Stars & Stripes”, twice been named “United States Rolex Yachtsman of the Year”, and won over forty national, North American, and world championships.  He is currently vice-president of North Sails North America and director of Puma Ocean Racing.

Turkey is obviously no newcomer to boatbuilding – they built the galleons for the first naval victory of the Ottoman Empire seven centuries ago when their fleets ranged far and wide, controlling not only the Mediterranean, but reaching out to North America and Indian Ocean.

New to U.S. shores is the Turkish-built Soluna 46 Coupe. Soluna Yachts' design team has given this fiberglass yacht a fresh twist on traditional Maine lobster-boat styling, dubbing it "Down East Retro." The interior is more contemporary in feel than much of the competition. The salon is airy and uncluttered, with light woods and upholstery.

Soluna Yachts is a newly established South Florida boatbuilder with a twist - the company manufactures its line of lobster yachts at its own yard in Turkey. The first of these boats to launch is the 46 Soluna Coupe, an enclosed-hardtop express cruiser that company calls "Down-East Retro." "What we were trying to do was come up with a 'retro' boat - something a little different," says Soluna Yachts president Wayne Helms.
